Longtime listener to your podcast. I should have contacted you before now to tell you how much I love your writing, your insight, and how freakishly alike so many of our emotional undertones are.

Anyway all that aside I wanted to tell you how much this podcast moved me. I have composed homages in my head to all my former serious (and current) loves, though I have never corralled them into written words, so they remain fluid inside me, but also inaccessible. I remember that I did actually corner my high school girlfriend once (we were together for three years 25 years ago) and told her that the place in my heart that was hers would always be hers and thanked her for being a great girlfriend, we discovered sex and love together like we invented it.

I have always been a very sexual person trapped in a somewhat prude shell. My old friends would all agree that I’m very much a flirt.

I also think that a big move every few years is healthy. It allows you to immerse yourself into another community and start a love affair with another city. My wife and I are still in a three year tryst with Brooklyn, and absolutely loving it. We’re thinking that it will last for another three years then on to new pastures. Right now Austin is top on our list. While I’m thinking about it I was wondering if you could add smells to your stories. For instance, the boat in lip service was in a harbor or pier right? Could you smell the salt in the air, taste the humidity? Just enough to set the scene. Smells have a transporting quality. When I visit friends in Nevada I instantly feel Las Vegas is dry and raw – my breathe is deeper and causes an instant light headedness.

Living this kind of life of adventure can be amazing, but can also be so trying. I’m still trying to find my way in it. Trying not to break any hearts and trying to be as honest as I can be, with myself and my partners.

Just finished listening to your latest episode.
A surprising ending, both unsatisfying in a way, but also interesting.
Unsatisfying of course because, identifying with your principle character means you want her to get what she wants.
But its refreshing that this isn’t just plain fantasy. Things like this happen in real life, and having this in your narrative deepens both your characters your overall story arc.

Listening to erotic stories is entirely new to me, and I have only subscribed to your podcast for 3 episodes now. Something interesting struck me though.
My motivation for consuming any kind of erotica is of course to get off on it. And by that I don’t mean the physical “getting off”. As you probably well know, sexual themes turn us on in our minds more powerfully and sooner than our bodies.
The first time I listened to your podcast, i was on my commute to work. Listening to these words, their meaning, the grin I involuntarily get on my face, the embarrassment I feel being in the presence of strangers while listening to this, my eyes shifting around the train, the constant reminding myself that no one else can hear what I am hearing. I am not embarrassed to say I had to pause the podcast several times that first time, only resuming when I was on the street, alone and in a sense more private again.

My point is that listening to Erotica is unlike listening to anything else. The level of engagement is so much higher, I am so much more invested.
That made the “betrayal” of Xavier so much more potent. I found myself getting angry at him, embarrassed to be a man even, to be associated with that, all to familiar, behavior.
So while I shared your characters disappointment strongly, I also find myself invested in your characters a lot more. They have become very real now, in a way that could not happen where this just a plain erotic fantasy as you find so often on the internet. Maybe I am just trying to say your writing is powerful and I like it.

I think we all have fantasies and for the most part, when fantasies come true, they are not how you envisioned them. And maybe once the fantasy becomes a reality, it is no longer appealing. Sure, I have been let down. But I have also had some truly amazing experiences. Haven’t we all?

You can’t do this. One pod cast every six weeks is simply not enough. I’ve resorted to relistening to your old ones, which is fine, as I hang on your every word and drop to floor as you finish your sentences in that way that only you can. But I need a little steadier diet of these podcasts. Do you have have any in the vaults that you can release to us junkies?

I agree with your advice for Axe. There are women who do not identify as Dominant immediately because they do not want to get inundated with eager slave boys. I’m with you 100% on not wanting to waste time on someone vanilla. I’m curious if you can recommend a swing event for a single submissive guy. Most seem to be couples and single women only. The few I’ve found that allow single men charge an arm and a leg for it.

I go to a number of BDSM events but find the number of dominant women to be fairly low.

Just wanted to drop you a note. I have listened to a couple of your shows, and I really like them. You are honest and sexy, too. I doubt I’ll ever be able to go to a sex party like the ones you describe, but it is still very interesting.

I have been married for 17 years, and we have been together 24. My wife is fun in bed, but would never be interested in a sex party or swapping or any of that type of stuff. So obviously, that is a turn on for me. We are still in love after all this time, obviously there would be ups and downs (pun intended), but we really love each other. That said, it would still be nice to spice things up now and then.

Unfortunately, there is no STI (sexually transmitted infection) screening for parties. It is not inappropriate to give a shot, “Hey. Does anyone have any STI’s?” before jumping into an orgy. But it rarely happens. I think most people assume that if one did have any STI they would lie about it when asked. At sex parties when I have inquired about recent STI test results or if they washed up after their last sexual interaction, people are honest and not bothered by the questions. However, it is generally me asking. I wish people would ask more.

There is some drug use. Mostly people drink. I think regardless of ones sexual confidence people like to party. So people use whatever substance they would use when going out to a club, etc.
